Local artists/groups are participating in the School Daze Public Art Project by taking old school desks from the former Marriott School and turning them into pieces of public art. The desks were first exhibited at the 2008 Wine and Art Festival at Locust Grove in Walkerton on June 14th. After which the desks will be exhibited in the coming months at several locations throughout the area. In early 2009, a gala event will be held where the desks will be auctioned off as a fundraiser for the Marriott School Restoration Project. |
