KQCD Walk For A Cause

Dear King and Queen Citizens and Supporters; You are cordially invited to participate in the first annual KQCD âWalk for a Causeâ Relay on Saturday September 3, 2011 (Labor Day Weekend) from 6:00 PM to 12:00 midnight. The event will be held at the King and Queen Central High Schoolâs Athletic Field. We are asking your organization to form a team or multiple teams and be responsible for a least one team member walking on the track at all times during the event. The minimum contribution for each participant is $10.00 but teams are encouraged to raise as much money as possible as there will be special recognition for the team that turn in the highest contribution. Teams will also be recognized for the most participants and the best decorated tent space. Any Church groups, organizations, businesses, hunt clubs, car or motorcycle clubs or individuals are welcome to participate. There will be food, entertainment, games, etc. But most of all, a chance for the community to come together for a worthy cause. This year, all proceeds will benefit the pavilion / concession facility that is being built by the boosters club at the high school. Please choose a team Captain and have that person register the team at our website, <a href="http://www.kqcd.org/">www.kqcd.org</a>. KQCD Email List Message August 6th Health & Fitness Farmers Market

Just a reminder: Market Saturday August 6th from 9am till 12, at the Walkerton Boat Ramp. The market's theme is Health and Fitness, we will have special guest from the Virginia Extension Office and Curves of King William. The Extension office will be present to answer any questions you may have about fall gardening. Curves will be present to give you tips and ideas on fitness. There will be multiple farmers with fresh vegetables, honey, canned salsa, fresh eggs, baked goods, jewelry, soaps and oils, and many other treats. Also, August 6th is also Walkerton Day, starting at Noon! They will be having a cornhole tournament, parade, and music!!! Come enjoy the event with your community!!!! First Farmers' Market of Season This Saturday, May 7th

King and Queen Community Development, Inc. (KQCD) is excited that the 2011 Farmers' Market season is about to begin. The Walkerton Farmers' Market is hosted by KQCD and will be held on the first Saturday each month from May - September. Please join us between 9AM - 12PM at the Walkerton Boat Landing this Saturday and every first Saturday. New this year is a family activity. So bring the kids and come visit with your neighbors while enjoying fresh local produce, meats and plants. You can now use credit, debit or SNAP cards at the Walkerton Farmers' Market. Special Announcement During KQCD Holiday Reception

Its getting busier and colder! So, I just wanted to take a minute to remind you that the KQCD Holiday Reception is this Thursday evening at 6:30PM. Many of you have already let me know whether you can make it or not, so if you have, keep reading, there is more information. We hope you can stop by, even for a few minutes, to say hello and grab a bite to eat. As many of you know KQCD conducted a survey at Community Pride Day this fall. We are happy to announce that we are expanding that survey so more King and Queen citizens can participate. The survey can be taken online at our website at <a href="http://www.kqcd.org/">www.kqcd.org</a>. The official launch is Thursday, but, you can take it now. So whether you plan to attend the Reception or not, please take 5 minutes and complete the survey.
