Calling all vendors! Our farmers market this Saturday is still on! I have advertised on FACEBOOK, our KQCD email listing and will be hanging the signs this afternoon. Remember set up begins at 8:30am and market starts at 9am. Please let me know if you have any questions <a href="mailto:staci.longest@kqcd.org">staci.longest@kqcd.org</a> or 804-514-5400! We are also doing a plant swap, like we did in June. Therefore bring any plants you would be interested in swaping with others! Please let me know what vegetables you will have, so that i can put it out there and advertise!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you there!

KQCD Farmers Market will be on June 4th at the Walkerton boat ramp. Vendor set up begins at 8:30am; market is 9am until noon. June market will have a Plant SWAP, please bring plants between 9am to 10am, swap begins at 10am. Please let me know what vegetables, etc you plan to bring so that I can put recipes together! Hello Vendors!!!!! I would like to say many thanks to all the vendors who attended the May 7th Farmers Market. I believe it was a huge success!!!!!! I am looking forward to the June 4th Market and have many family activities planned. I would like to remind the vendors that attended the planning sessions, May 7th Market, and those who are going to be joining us at the June 4th Market, please make sure to let me know what vegetables, breads, soaps, eggs, etc you plan to bring in advance, if you can so that i can work on promoting your producst through Facebook, etc. Also, I am already working on my recipes for the upcoming market. Therefore please let me know what vegetables etc. you are planning to have when you know, so that i can make sure I have a good variety of recipes. Also, for all vendors who plan to be attending our markets in the future and the ones who haven't sent them to me yet. Please send me about 2 sentances about your farm/business and your contact information. This information is going to be printed in a brochure very shortly, so please get that information into me! The Virginia Department of Social Services is printing these for us, in color!!!!! As many of you know, we had two local newspapers attend our market on May 7th and took pictures and documented information about the market, this is great news!!!!!! I know that a few vendors have already taken signs to put out before each market. If any other vendors have great locations to put signs out on the Tuesday before the market, please let me know. I am in the process of making more signs. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have! I want to make this market a huge success for the vendors and the community, but I cannot do this without your help!!!!!! The information that will be covered is: dates and events planned, children activities planned, advertising planned, SNAP information, USDA information, question/answer. Hello All! I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying this warm weather! I know I am! I would like to hold two upcoming vendor meetings ahead of our first farmers market on May 7th! It is very important for you to do your best to attend one of them! If you could please let me know which date you would like to attend! Dates: Thursday April 21st 7pm or Monday April 25th 7pm! Reminder: KQCD Farmers Market will be the first Saturday of each month starting May through September. Also, working on other events during the summer, to attend! Will keep everyone posted!! Information to be given out: SNAP information, USDA information, banners/promotional information handed out, information about events occurring at each market and promotions running during the summer! I look forward to hearing from each one of you! Just to let everyone know, we have the bookmobile coming to the May 7th Market, and students coming to read to kids, along with other kids activities~! Please let me know any ideas you have and which date you are planning to attend training! This is important to understand the SNAP program, that we are so lucky to have been selected for! HELLO ALL!!!!! I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the months ahead! With that being said, I would like to tell you a few things about the upcoming farmer's market season, that I have been working on for the past few months! KQCD Farmer's Market will now be on the 1st Saturday of the month. Starting in May and going through September, with that being said, let me tell you exactly why we changed our date. KQCD Farmer's Market was approved to have a "point of sale" SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) machine. This will mean that all individuals/families who received food assistance from Department of Social Services, will be able to shop at the KQCD Farmers Market. This is a great accomplishment!!!! KQCD Farmer's Market will be FREE to all farmers market vendors during the 2011 season! We are obtaining sponsorship from businesses and individuals to pay for advertising for the Market. I have planned for each farmers market to have an event to occur at the market. The plan behind this, is to bring additional customers to buy! I would like to hear from each of the vendors, as to what other items you would like me to consider in the planning of this season! Hello All Farmer Market Vendors, For the upcoming Farmer's Market on October 16th, KQCD is considering moving the Walkerton Farmer's Market to Central High School to be part of the Community Pride Day. We are still making sure that we can get permission from the Chairperson to do this! What we are planning is having a Farmer's Market section at Community Pride Day, but need to make sure that we will have vendors to fill the section. With that being said, if you could let me know by Monday September 27, 2010, if you are will be able to attend the Farmer's Market if moved to Central High School. This would be a great opportunity to reach new customers, as this community pride day includes the following items (per the flyer): car show, kids' carnival, other vendors, parade, homecoming football game (starting at 2pm). If you could please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it! Also, please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
